Give a “Donation in Kind” - Donate an item in exchange for a tax deductible receipt for the goods. We need top quality, working items – junk doesn’t help! Please consider how you might be able to meet a need when they arise. Instructions for shipping or delivering items will be sent to you. A tax-deductible receipt will be supplied within 2 weeks of receipt of the item.
Volunteer- Join the Philadelphia Urban Missions in a variety of different tasks, projects and ministry programs held throughout the year. Some of the opportunities include:
Work and Witness- Partner with local churches in construction projects, technical needs, evangelism and compassionate ministries.
Sports Camps- Take part in summer activities and sports with local children and teens in urban areas.
Vacation Bible Schools (VBS)- Assist local churches as children learn the word of God through an exciting Vacation Bible School.
Outreach- Reach out to local residents and neighborhoods through various methods such as prayer, fliers and information tables, just to name a few.
Feed the Homeless- Partner with local ministries to feed the homeless and evangelize.
Community Projects- Work with neighborhoods to identify specific community needs such as home reconstruction, cleaning a park or even planting a garden!
Gospelrama- Volunteer for the annual Gospelrama concert held at City Hall in Philadelphia
Food Pantry- Donate your time to helping distribute food to local residents
Internships- Interested in ministry? Join the Philadelphia Urban Missions as we change lives one step at a time. Apply for one of our exciting internship opportunities and serve in an area of your interest.
Thanksgiving Turkeys- Volunteer at the annual Thanksgiving turkey distribution event where hundreds of turkeys are given to families in need in North Philadelphia. Other items such as stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, vegetables, gravy and juice are also distributed. Donations of these items are also gladly accepted.
Christmas Toys- Enjoy the holiday season by volunteering at the yearly Christmas celebration. Each year, hundreds of toys and books are given to underprivileged children in Philadelphia. Help is needed in the donation, distribution and sorting of the toys and gifts.
Computers- In effort to launch our computer and life skills training courses, Front Step, Inc. is requesting that you donate fully functioning computers for the Courtland Street ministry hub. The computers MUST meet the following requirements:
Windows XP or higher
At least 1GB of memory
Have an Intel or AMD P4 processor or higher
